Autism Visual Supports

Free Visual Supports Resource for Autism

(Originally written in 2019)

This free Visual Supports Bumper Resource has been made available on Little Puddins to support Autistic people, their families, and the professionals who work alongside them. The resource was originally written and shared in 2019 and continues to be offered freely as part of an ongoing commitment to accessible, neuroaffirmative supports.

Visual supports are widely recognised as helpful tools for many Autistic individuals. They offer clarity, reduce uncertainty, and support understanding across everyday routines, transitions, and decision-making. The resources included in this pack reflect that purpose, providing simple, adaptable visual formats that can be used flexibly across home, school, and community contexts.

What this free resource includes

The Visual Supports Bumper Resource contains a range of practical visual tools, including:

  • Morning and night routine boards

  • First–Then and First–Next–Then supports

  • Now and Next boards

  • To Do and Finished boards

  • Choice boards

Each support is designed to be adaptable, allowing families and professionals to use them in ways that respect individual needs, preferences, and communication styles.

Why this resource is shared for free

These visual supports are made available at no cost to ensure that Autistic people and those who support them can access practical tools without financial barriers. The intention has always been to support understanding, reduce pressure, and offer clarity in everyday life, not to impose expectations or compliance.

Although originally created in 2019, the core principles behind these resources remain relevant: accessibility, predictability, and respect for Autistic ways of processing and engaging with the world.

Using visual supports respectfully

Visual supports are not behaviour management tools. They are access tools. They work best when used collaboratively, flexibly, and without pressure. Families and professionals are encouraged to adapt them in ways that feel supportive rather than directive.

This free Visual Supports Bumper Resource is available on Little Puddins as part of a wider commitment to sharing neuroaffirmative, practical resources that centre Autistic wellbeing, dignity, and autonomy.
